Gala dinner with peacekeepers in the Central African Republic on the occasion of the International Women's Day

In honour of female members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces deployed in the UN and EU missions in the Central African Republic, and on the occasion of marking the 8th March – the International Women's Day a gala dinner was prepared in the camp of our peacekeepers. On that occasion, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic handed to the present female members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces appropriate gifts.

Congratulating the International Women's Day, Defence Minister wished them to continue successfully and devotedly to do their job in the missions, and as he pointed out, their strength, perseverance and dedication to their job deserve special respect.

In the two missions in the Central African Republic there are 23 of our female members deployed.

Out of 328 members of the Serbian Armed Forces which are currently deployed in 11 UN and EU peacekeeping missions, 39 are women, or nearly 12 percent, which is a percentage of which a small number of contingents could boast.
