Acquisition and management over lifespan of arms and military equipment
At the Department for Defence Technologies of the Sector for Material resources, a workshop is being held from February 2 to February 6, titled “Acquisition and management over lifespan of arms and military equipment”, with lecturers from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey (California, USA). The technical conference in the field of defence acquisitions, with 20 representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, represents the continuation of successful cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey through the IDARM program, whose goal is improving knowledge of MoD and SAF members involved in the process of equipment and defence acquisitions.
The workshop focuses on important influencing factors and conditions for functioning of an efficient logistic system in the process of acquisition of means for the needs of the defence system, with particular focus on methodology for development of models of predicting overall expenses during the lifespan of complex combat systems.
Aside from theoretical contents, participants of the conference have the opportunity to learn about positive examples from the practice of defence acquisitions in developed countries, with the goal of reaching better understanding and perception of possibilities for improvement of current normative legal regulative from the aforementioned field.
This is the first of three workshops that will be realized with this scientific institution by the Ministry of Defence during 2015, on contents from the field of acquisition of NGO means and defence acquisitions.
