Anniversary of death of Field Marshals Misic and Bojovic and Army General Jurisic Sturm marked



Today, with state and military honors, wreaths were laid at Novo groblje in marking the anniversary of death of Field Marshal Zivojin Misic, Army General Pavle Jurisic Sturm and Field Marshal Petar Bojovic.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Dragan Popovic stressed that Serbia greatly honors the great figures of the First World War and shows that it has not forgotten them, adding that “we wish to show and teach our descendants how to continue down the path of their ancestors”.

Member of the City Council Mirjana Milutinovic stressed that Serbia remembers our great military leaders and that it will never forget them and that Belgrade is proud of them.

The commemoration was attended and wreaths were laid by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces of Serbia, City of Belgrade, descendants of renowned military leaders and representatives of numerous associations of citizens.

Field Marshal Zivojin Misisc died on January 20, 1921 in Belgrade, Field Marshal Petar Bojovic died on January 19, 1945 in Belgrade, while Army General Pavle Jurisic Sturm died on January 14, 1922 in Belgrade.
