Protocol on Donation for PELT Programme signedThe Ministry of Defence today signed a Protocol on the donation by the Kingdom of Norway for the Programme for English Language Training (PELT) for the personnel of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. The Protocol was signed by Brigadier General Dragosav Lackovic, Head of the Personnel Department of the Human Resources Sector, and Colonel Tore Anderson, Military Representative of the Kingdom of Norway.

The donation comprises IT equipment - 21 laptop computers for English language teachers in the Self-Access Centres for English Language Training (CELT) in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

PELT programme is planned out for the purpose of achieving the linguistic interoperability of the personnel in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as one of the conditions for their engagement in a multinational environment, and which is realised in the framework of the Partnership for Peace mechanisms.

The donation of the Kingdom of Norway is a continuation of the planned activities which are realized through partnership cooperation with that country, the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United States, with the expert assistance of the British Council in Belgrade, for the purpose of developing an efficient, long-term and stable system of English language courses, testing and evaluation for members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces according to STANAG 6001.

Cooperation with the aforementioned countries will contribute to the modernization of the existing capacities of the Self-Access Centres for English Language Training at the Ministry of Defence and the garrisons of the Serbian Armed Forces, organized methodical and professional seminars for teachers of English in the adoption and standardization of new methods of teaching and training of teachers for the preparation of materials using a combination of direct contact and distributed learning.
