A budget for stronger Armed Forces

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Head of the General Staff of Serbia General Ljubisa Dikovic held a joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the extended Collegium of the Head of the General Staff of Serbia. During the session at the House of the Guard in Topcider, they analyzed in detail the realization of the defence budget in 2014, and the program activities according to which the Ministry of Defence was granted means by the Law on 2015 Budget.

It was concluded that the defence budget in 2014 had been realized over 99 percent. The means had been used for intended purposes, mostly for the development of capabilities of the Armed Forces of Serbia. At the same time, business transparency had been secured, in order for the public to have a clear insight in expenditures of budgetary means.

The 2015 budget was evaluated as developmental as it provides significant means for purchasing equipment for the Armed Forces of Serbia, realization of started investment projects and functional tasks of the Armed Forces in all three of its missions. Aside from the regular tasks of training and assisting the citizens, attention will be given to increasing the number of SAF members in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations and the European Union.
