Electro-physiology room opened at MMA



Отворена Сала за електрофизиологију на ВМАToday, at the Military Medical Academy, a ceremonial opening of the Room for electro-physiology was held within the Cardiology Clinic of this military medical institution. MMA patients will now be able to get full cardiologic diagnostics, because this is a procedure conducted only in most developed medical centers. MMA has also become the third hospital in the region to have a Room for heart electro-physiology, and the only such military hospital.

According to Head of MMA Brigadier General Prof. Marijan Novakovic, MD, today was a significant day for the institution because it now officially begins using a procedure considered to be the pinnacle of cardiology diagnostics and therapy practice.

Отворена Сала за електрофизиологију на ВМА- This is especially important for the fact that, unfortunately, every year we see an increase in heart diseases, no matter the patient’s age – General Novakovic stressed, adding that both military and civilian patients will have access to world-class medicine from now, because MMA, together with the Clinical Center and the Institute in Dedinje will be able to divide responsibility in taking in patients with issues involving arrhythmia, which will shorten the current waiting lists.

In the further course of today’s ceremony, General Novakovic handed plaques and letters of thanks to people whose work made the opening of the Room for electro-physiology possible, and a special plaque was given to Prof Carlo Pappone, MD, greatest world expert in cardiology, who was a guest at the ceremony and the technical meeting that followed after the opening ceremony.
