Keys to new houses handed in Obrenovac



Уручени кључеви нових кућа у ОбреновцуPresident of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, accompanied by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and other officials, handed in Obrenovac keys to 39 new houses to families whose homes had been destroyed during the floods in May, which were built with donations from United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. The event was attended by Ambassador of Kuwait in Belgrade Yousef Ahmad Abdulsamad and representative of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates Hamad Al Awadi.

President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic said that Serbia has great support around the world and friends in United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, and he congratulated the Government of Serbia for not allowing a single dinar not be used what is was meant for. He added that the donation is an example of humanity of Kuwait, Emirates and EU and everyone who sent help to the Serbian people even though the didn’t have to.Уручени кључеви нових кућа у Обреновцу

The building project was executed by UNDP, and all the houses are for the families whose homes were destroyed during floods in May, during which, as well as during the reconstruction of the city, the Armed Forces of serbia contributed greatly.

After the key handover, Prime Minister Vucic and Chief of EU Delegation in Serbia Michael Davenport visited Elementary School Posavski Partizani which has been reconstructed and equipped with the help of EU donations.
