Donation of medical equipment to military healthcare institutions

At the medical facility of Krusevac barracks “Car Lazar”, today, a contract was signed on the donation of medical equipment between the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia and the company “Jasarevic Rinske Agnes”. The signing was attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic with associates.

The donation contract was signed by Head of Military Healthcare Department Brigadier General Prof. Zoran Popovic, MD and entrepreneur Desimir Jasarevic. The value of the donation is around 20 thousand euros.

According to the representative of the Jasarevic family, whose members have lived and worked in the Netherlands for many years, they decided to donate the medical equipment which had previously been a part of their closed private hospital to the medical facility in their home town of Krusevac.

- I gladly decided to give the equipment to the military, because I know that it will be used in the right way for treatment of patients – Desimir Jasarevic stressed, adding that the Jasarevic family had previously donated medical equipment across the region numerous times.

Thanking for the valuable donation, on behalf of the defence system, General Popovic stressed that this would be a significant contribution to improvement of patient treatment, within the military healthcare system and also for all citizens of our country.

- The donated equipment will be distributed to all levels of healthcare, and a part of the equipment will remain at the garrison healthcare facility, which will significantly improve treatment of the military insured in this region. This is valuable equipment, which includes an ultrasonic machine with all necessary probes, a patient monitoring device, an operation table, and brand new hospital beds – General Popovic stressed, adding that legacy and donation giving are slightly forgotten parts of our tradition, and that this examples shows how hard-working individuals can help their people.

At the same facility, prior to the signing of the donation, there was an action of specialist doctors from the Military Medical Academy who examined military and civilian insured from Krusevac, and a counsel team of doctors was also at the patients’ disposal. In the words of Head of the MMA Brigadier General Prof. Marijan Novakovic, PhD, this was an action organized by this military healthcare institution in healthcare centers across the country.

- Around fifteen doctors of various specialties, including cardiologists, hematologists, nephrologists, physiatrists examined over 50 citizens of Krusevac today – General Novakovic stressed.

Further in today’s action, at the Sports Center in Krusevac, a friendly football game was held between FC “Akademac” of specialist doctors and FC “Mladost VPD” of protégés of the Correctional Facility from Krusevac, and the football match was also attended by Minister Gasic with associates.
