Scientific session about military operation expenses



The two-day scientific technical session “Economic analysis of the cost of military operations” has begun today at the Military Academy. Aside from the exchange of experiences related to calculating the expenses of operation projections, the goal of the session is to define elements and models for cost calculation and rationalization of operation expenses.

In his opening word, Head if the Military Academy and a member of the Program Board of the session Major General Mladen Vuruna stressed that the Military Academy and the University of Defence, with their scientific strength and maturity, via social and humanistic, natural and mathematical, medical and technical-technological sciences can successfully respond to all issues we are facing today.

- Economic analysis of costs of operations of the Armed Forces represents the foundation for successful completion of tasks, primarily within participation of the Armed Forces of Serbia in multinational operation in facing security threats.

Analyzing the current economic courses in the state, Professor at the Faculty Economy Biljana Jovanovic Gavrilovic elaborated on the condition of public finances and on the perspective of economic recovery of Serbia as the prerequisite of a more efficient defence, stressing that the national economy needs a substantial “Chinese growth of 8,9 percent” in order to overcome the pressing issues.

On the occasion of the session, which was attended by Assistant Minister of Defence for Human resources Milos Jankovic and representative of the General Staff of Serbia Major General Vojin Jondic, a thematic collection has been printed of 36 works that present all the areas that will be discussed.

The two-day scientific technical session “Economic analysis of the cost of military operations” will also be attended by guests from the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
