In the course of the four-day seminar “Managing configuration and outdated equipment” at the Defence Technologies Department of the Ministry of Defence, Roger Cook from UK Cranfield University held a lecture today.

Participants of the seminar from the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia were also greeted by Deputy Head of the Defence Technologies Department Colonel Zoran Patic who stressed that the seminar represents a “successful continuation of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and Cranfield University”.

- I hope that the course attendants will share their knowledge gained at the seminar with their colleagues in organizational units they work in, and that, in the next few days, new questions will be opened which will encourage future cooperation between these two institutions – Colonel Patic said.

Contents of the course represent a theoretical frame and provide education of representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia and help in achieving the partnership goal G-4055 with the methodological approach of how to efficiently manage system configuration and outdated equipment during the time period for reaching Serbia’s NATO partnership goal (G 4055 “Supply Chain Management”) which is mostly related to improving the system of defence procurements.

The goal of the training is for the participants, who are involved in defence procurements, to gain better understanding of the complexity and challenges of the acquisition process, especially in planning internal logistic support and how future demands affect this process.
