Day of MFC "Zastava Film" marked

The Military Film Center “Zastava Film” marked its jubilee today – 66th anniversary. The ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the Military Film Institution – November 14 was attended by representatives of the defence system, numerous associates and friends of “Zastava Film”.

Congratulating the employees on their holiday, Director of “Zastava Film” Lieutenant Colonel Mate Vujnovic said that the previous year had been a period when the staff of “Zastava Film” worked hard and achieved significant results of which he is proud.

- However, what was missing is what we expected the most – logistic technical support and bringing younger staff. With the hope that this will be realized next year, we continue our mission – preserving filmmaking activities within the defence system. There are many projects that we have realized this year and of which we can be proud – Lieutenant Colonel Vujnovic said.

The guests watched a film about projects of “Zastava Film” in the past year which included the informational activities, military exercises, educational and promotional films and videos, and documentary and short movies made during the past year.

Long ago, in 1948, the Department for Filmmaking of the Yugoslav Army was established in Belgrade. First projects were Film Reviews from the Yugoslav Army – chronicles and commentaries of army and social life. It was given today’s name – Military Film Center “Zastava Film” in 1962. MFC has won numerous awards and acknowledgements in international and national festivals.
