Day of the Military Security Agency marked

Tonight, with a ceremonial reception at the Grand Hall of the Former General Staff, the Day of the Military Security Agency was marked. The reception was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, ministers of the Government of Serbia, Deputy Head of the General Staff Lieutenant Colonel Jovica Draganic, representatives of the legislative, executive and judicial government, Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia, religious communities, diplomatic corps, and guests from the cultural and public life.

Congratulating the holiday to members of the service, Minister Gasic stressed that not many countries in the world can take pride in 175 years of tradition of such service.

- I wish you to continue being the factor of stability and security of the Republic of Serbia with equal effort that you have shown during the last two and a half years, and to give us reason to be proud with significant results when it comes to the security of Serbia and safety of our citizens next year as well – Minister of Defence said while addressing the guests.

Reminding of the history of this service, Representative Director of the Military Security Agency Brigadier General Petar Cvetkovic stressed that, during the two centuries of its work, this agency has shared the fate of its people, but has always been and remained a gathering of professionals and patriots dedicated to their work who place the honor, well-being and freedom of their country above everything.

- In the previous year, the Military Security Agency has conducted regular and emergency tasks completely in accordance with legal authorities, professionally and responsibly, using the allocated means with the care of a good householder – General Cvetkovic stressed, stating that this agency has at the same time established successful cooperation with other security factors in our country.

Members of the Military Security Agency (MSA) mark their day today – November 12, established in memory of the same date in 1839, when the first Military Law was proclaimed – a legal act that wholly defined matters of security protection of the military.
