French donation to Obrenovac

Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister of France Manuel Valls visited construction works in Obrenovac where France has donated seven houses to citizens that had lost their homes during the floods.

The tour of construction works in Obrenovac was also attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, since the Armed Forces of Serbia has given a great contribution to reconstruction of that city.

The Prime Ministers expressed their pleasure with the cooperation between the two Governments, local self-government and French and Serbian companies that has resulted in a fast realization of the project. In his address at the Municipality of Obrenovac, Prime Minister Vucic thanked his French guest for his wish to visit Obrenovac “where citizens survived a Golgotha” and the state cannot bring back all that has been lost even with all its efforts.

- However, we have invested five billion dinars in reconstruction, 5413 households have received a total of 1.57 billion dinars, and 64 houses have been built or are under construction – Prime Minister said, adding that he still considers that Obrenovac has received the greatest help from the contract with the company mostly under French possession that will employ 1400 citizens of Obrenovac, “which will happen in seven days”. French Prime Minister stressed that he was touched by the welcome in Obrenovac and that his country will stay committed to helping friendly Serbia.
