Day of the First Brigade marked
With a ceremonial line of units in Novi Sad barracks “Jugovicevo”, today, the Day of the First Army Brigade – November 9 was celebrated.Addressing the members of the unit and numerous guests, First Brigade Commander Brigadier General Stojan Batinic said that every member of the unit has given effort and commitment to every task, activity and obligation set by the chief command, and that have been in function of maintaining and improving operative capabilities.
General Batinic also reminded that they are in the finishing stage of preparation of the infantry company that will soon be referred to the UN mission in Lebanon, and that members of the brigade have many times helped the residents affected by natural disasters whenever it was needed and most important for saving lives and property.
- I expect exemplary and selfless dedication from all of you, and high motivation and commitment to every task, because it is the only way we can achieve the wanted results – General Batinic stressed.
The celebration of the Day of the First Brigade was attended by Army Commander Lieutenant General Aleksandar Zivkovic, tactical level unit commanders and representatives of organizational units of the Ministry of Defence, Head of the Juzno Backi County Zoran Milosevic, Mayor of Novi Sad Milos Vucevic, City Council President SinisaSevic and representatives of religious communities, social and cultural institutions of the District and the City.
Generals Zivkovic and Batinic handed awards and acknowledgements to most successful individuals, and the title of the best Brigade unit in 2014 in the crew-service rank was given to the Sector for Radio-Communications RTPS-400 in Connections Platoon of the Command Battalion, headed by First Class Senior Sergeant SafetSalihbegovic.
The ceremonial celebration of the Day of the First Army Brigade ended with a parade of units and performance of the folklore ensemble “Vila” KUD “Zeleznicar” from Novi Sad.
