Meeting of the Minister of Defence and the Ambassador of Greece



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and the Ambassador of Greece in Belgrade Constantine Economides agreed that the relations between the two countries are traditionally good and friendly, and that cooperation in all fields of mutual interest should be intensified.

Састанак министра одбране и амбасадора ГрчкеMinister Gasic stressed that regional cooperation is one of the priorities for the Government of Serbia and that it helps the European integrations of our country. Gasic and Economides concluded that Serbia actively participates in all regional security initiatives and that cooperation of Serbia and Greece in the field of defence should be advanced.

- We are grateful for the continued support of Greece in preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty in Kosovo and Metohija and to the European integrations of our country – Gasic stressed, and reminded that Greece, with over 120 soldiers in KFOR significantly contributes to stabilization of security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

The two high officials are glad that Serbia, as the largest contributor to UN peacekeeping operations in the region, hosts the exceptionally significant conference “Being a Peacekeeper”, which gave the participants the chance to exchange practices gained in the field, and to confirm Serbia’s active role in building regional and global peace.
