Minister Gasic at the work meeting with NALED members



The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) organized a work meeting attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, State Secretary Zoran Djordjevic and Head of Defence Technology Department at the Ministry of Defence Major General Bojan Zrnic, where they answered question of representatives of the municipalities and industry subject of the members of the association.

Discussing the importance of today’s meeting, Minister Gasic stressed that it was a chance for the Ministry of Defence to present the information about the current position of the Master Plan adopted in 2006. Answering the question, Minister also pointed out the good and bad practices from the past period.

- We also discussed the status of our watchtowers, and the conversion of debt of local self-governments into funds of special purpose industry, namely in Uzice, Trstenik, Valjevo and Kragujevac – Gasic stressed.

As he added, there was also mention of military houses across Serbia which are mostly located in the narrowest center of the cities, stressing that law regulations and models have been found to offer these objects to local self-governments, so that they would be of use for the entire community.

Participants of the meeting agreed that the engagement and the efforts invested by members of the Armed Forces of Serbia during the emergency situation that had occurred in our country in the past period were extremely important, and they expressed their gratitude for the fact that it is always prepared to deploy its capacities in the interest of Serbia’s development.

Most questions directed at Minister Gasic and his associates were related to the issue of conversion of military property, and the budget allocated for the defence system in 2015 was also mentioned, along with possibilities of repurposing objects on watchtowers and the potentials of our special purpose industry.
