Prime Minister Vucic headed the state delegation during a visit to Tekija



Ангажовање војске у ТекијиSerbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, Minister for Emergencies Velimir Ilic and Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic visited today the village of Tekija near Kladovo, where recent heavy rains created landslides that caused great material damage to many households. SAF members are deployed in flood relief and have invested great efforts in over a week to bring the life of the citizens to a usual course.

Prime Minister Vucic stated in Tekija that the state and the military will always stand by their people, stressing that he was there today to encourage the citizens and tell them that the state will do everything possible to normalize the life in this area. He also conveyed his satisfaction to see the members of the Armed Forces – young people dedicated to their work.

Министар одбране у Текији- What I have seen here and what gives me pleasure is the great engagement of the state and our military – Prime Minister Vucic stressed, adding that the most important thing is for the people to see that they are being helped as much as possible in the misfortune that has fallen upon them. He stated that, regardless of the difficult situation, appliances will be provided as soon as possible for households in Tekija and other places, and that the damaged roads and infrastructure will be repaired in order to prevent future damages in the case of possible floods in the following period.

- The damage is great and we will certainly not be able to reimburse every dinar, but we will make sure that the people can live a decent life and feel the way did in the times before – Prime Minister Vucic stressed, adding that SAF teams will remain deployed in clearing up the terrain as long as needed.

Ангажовање војске у ТекијиAs Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic pointed out, 460 SAF members are deployed in flood relief in Tekija, another 30 in Boljetin, all together with 16 engineering machines.

- I believe that we will finish a part of clearing up yards by Wednesday, but, even after that, a number of machines and members of engineering units will remain here – Minister Gasic stressed.

As it was stated during today’s visit, in the Municipality of Kladovo, 50 houses were damaged during the recent floods, and according to damage estimations, the damage costs between 8 and 10 million dinars.
