The anniversary of embarking of the Serbian military on Corfu and Vido marked
On the occasion of marking the anniversary of embarking of the Serbian military on the islands of Corfu and Vido, and marking the centenary of the beginning of the Great War, wreaths were laid by Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and Aleksandar Vulin, Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Policy at the plateau in front of the Mausoleum on Vido.Aside from official delegations of the Republic of Serbia, wreaths were also laid by officials of the Republic of Greece, Mayor of Corfu and Deputy Minister of the Ionian Region in Gr
eece.The central ceremony took place on the island of Vido, and ministers Gasic and Vulin also laid wreaths at the Navy Cross, and at the open sea, at the “Blue Tomb”, thus paying their respects to the deceased Serbian soldiers.
Ministers Gasic and Vulin also visited the Serbian House, and on that occasion Defence Minister handed over to curator Ljubomir Saramandic a silver memorial medal for an exceptional contribution to the defence system.
