Shooting final scenes for the film "Serbia in the Great War"

Снимање завршних сцена филма „Србија у Великом рату“Scenes from the series and film “Serbia in the Great War” by Sladjana Zaric were filmed today in Zemun, near Gardos Tower. Military Academy cadets and students of the Fifth Belgrade Grammar School played the Serbian soldiers. Actor Nikola Rakocevic played the role of Major Dragutin Gavrilovic, who held the famous speech in front of his soldiers in the wake of the defence of Belgrade in 1915.

Producer Ivana Stevens said that the shooting of “political scenes from the background of the war” will take place in the following days.

- The shooting was very exhausting, because the mass fighting scenes which we have been filming and which involved members of the Armed Forces of Serbia demand substantial scenography works. We shot on Kopaonik, at Pasuljanske Livade and Deliblatska Pescara, and those scenes were based on personal retellings. We had great help from members of the Special Brigade who performed difficult physical activities and most shots would have been impossible to take without them – the producer said.

The premiere of the series and film “Serbia in the Great War” is scheduled for mid-December, on the day of marking the centenary of the beginning of the Battle of Kolubara.

The documentary-fictional film is realized by the Ministry of Defence and the Military Film Center “Zastava Film” as co-producers, and the Radio Television of Serbia.
