Recognition to Minister Gasic in Varvarin



Признање министру Гашићу и у ВарваринуOn the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Varvarin, today, a plaque was awarded to Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic at this municipality for a great contribution to development of the Municipality of Varvarin and dedication in providing help and flood relief.

Thanking for the awarded acknowledgement, Minister Gasic stressed that, although the plaque carries his name, it has been deserved by all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia, especially the CBRN Center from Krusevac and the 210th Engineering Battalion from Kraljevo who carried the biggest part of the burden in this area in the toughest times during the floods.

- And, today, when Kladovo is in such difficult situation, we repeat what we have said numerous times, and that is that the Armed Forces of Serbia is an unalienable part of the people of Serbia and that always stands with its people and by its people – Defence Minister said, adding that the climate changes which are the topic of today’s session at the UN are the very reason why the President of Serbia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are in New York.

Признање министру Гашићу и у Варварину- We have no other options but to unite and together improve the quality of life of the people in this part of Serbia – Minister Gasic said, stressing that he, as a citizen of Krusevac, will always be at their disposal.

The guests were also greeted by President of the Varvarin Municipality ZoranMilenkovic, President of the Municipal Assembly BratislavTasic, and, on behalf of the guests, a speech was also given by Deputy Defence Attaché of the Russian federation Colonel Alexander Malyshev.

The Municipality of Varvarin marks its day on September 23 in the memory of the battle from 1810 when Serbian rebel s won one of the first and most significant victories in the First Serbian Uprising. With them fought, shoulder to shoulder, around 3,000 Russian soldiers headed by Count Oruh.
