Filming "Serbia in the Great War" continues

Shooting a documentary film and a series on "Serbia in the Great War" continues today at Deliblatska pescara. The project is conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, Military Film Centre "Zastava film" as a co-producer, and the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation.

Today's shots showed the Battle of Kolubara – the offensive phase and countering the counterattack.

The author Sladjana Zaric said that by the scenes in Deliblatska pescara filming is coming to an end. She pointed out that all the dramatisations were made based on the war diaries of people who survived battles.

- It is important to point out, because dramatisations are not fiction of the director and free artistic imagination, but represent an interesting testimony. A month ago we were filming scenes from the Salonika front in Pasuljanske livade, because of the terrain configuration – limestone and stone, indeed recall Kajmakcalan and Dobro polje. Here we are recording battles of Cer and Kolubara – glorious battles of the First World War. Yesterday in this area we recorded the burying of guns – this is the story from the later stages of 1915, when our army was to cross Albania and to leave there the heavy artillery. Everyone had with him only what he could carry. In these scenes yesterday, the actors conveyed how it looked when soldier had to part from his gun, often with tears, Sladjana said.

Director of the Military Film Centre "Zastava film" Lieutenant Colonel Mate Vujnovic stressed that the project was enabled due to active and wholehearted employment of the resources of the Ministry of Defence.

- Today, and also in the past few days, the film shooting involved 40 members of the Special Brigade and 25 cadets of the Military Academy who diligently and successfully performed this task. We have enabled the wholehearted support of the superior commands and institutions that help us to complete this project successfully by the end of the year. We hope that until then we will have weather, material and human resources on out side, Lieutenant Colonel Vujnovic said.

After recording in Deliblatska pescara, the team moves to Belgrade, where they will record political scenes with main characters – Regent Aleksandar, Nikola Pasic, Major Dragutin Gavrilovic ... The premiere is planned for December, on the day marking the centenary of the Battle of Kolubara.
