Serbian Armed Forces helps Kladovo and Majdanpek

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic visited the village of Tekija near Kladovo and talked with residents whose households are flooded.

"As of tomorrow, 500 troops will assist the most vulnerable areas in the municipalities of Kladovo and Majdanpek and all the available machinery will be sent. We will not withdraw until we help our people", Gasic said.

He said that the two bridges destroyed in the floods would soon be restored.

Residents of Tekija have received today 1,500 litres of drinking water, and as of tomorrow water trucks will be sent to the affected areas.

"We wish to take advantage of this nice weather, to remedy the situation as much as possible, and the main thing is that there were no human casualties," Defence Minister said.
