Minister Gasic meets Ambassador Keefe

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, in his talks with the United Kingdom Ambassador in Belgrade Denis Keefe, stated that the participation of our country in the NATO summit in Wales is the confirmation that Serbia takes the position of a credible and reliable partner in the international framework, develops relations of cooperation with the countries of East and West, without compromising the concept of military neutrality.

"It is our clear commitment to adopting the highest standards in certain areas through cooperation with different countries. The summit was an opportunity to learn about topical issues of regional and global security, as well as initiatives towards improving the interoperability of NATO and partner countries, which is one of our goals when it comes to defense policy", Gasic said.

Congratulating on the successful organization of the meeting, Defence Minister stressed that the participation of our country in similar events in the forthcoming period was of great benefit to our defence system.

At the meeting, Gasic and Keefe discussed military cooperation with the United Kingdom, security sector reform, public relations, English language learning and collaboration through the NATO Trust Fund, as these areas were evaluated as important for the development of relations between the two countries. Minister Gasic called on the United Kingdom Defence Secretary Michael Fallon to visit Serbia in the forthcoming period.
