Military Academy cadets at the Cathedral of Saint sava



On the occasion of ending of education of cadets of the 135th Class at the Military Academy, today, at the Cathedral of Saint Sava in Vracar, a ceremonial Holy Liturgy was held with prayer service served by Bishop Jovan and Bishop Arsenije with clergy. The spiritual event was attended by cadets, and students of the Military High School, Academy Chairmen, and clergymen of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

After the liturgy, congratulating the cadets on the end of their education and recent promotion to the rank of Second Lieutenants, Bishop Jovan gave his blessing to the future officers, expressing his joy that the new generations of cadets also care about spiritual education.

- Next Saturday, you are taking over one of the most responsible duties in our country – you will become officers of the Armed Forces of Serbia. Do your service responsibly, courageously, with will and joy, and may God’s blessings follow you on that path – Bishop Jovan said.

Cadets of the Military Academy also didn’t hide their joy for attending the liturgy and the prayer service.

- I am honored to have attended the praying service that, for me, represents a beginning of a hopefully successful officer career and the height of the work and effort I have invested in the last four years in order to join the line of officers of our military – cadet Katarina Milovac said.

In the words of Djordje Obradovic, 135th Class cadet, religion has always had a special place in the minds of soldiers, making them immortal. – Today’s praying service at the Cathedral is a particular incentive for us to endure all challenges ahead.

After the liturgy and the praying service, Brotherhood of the Cathedral, headed by Father Radivoje Panic, organized a cocktail for cadets, students and Chairmen of the Military Academy.
