Ministers Gasic and Dusa on improving Serbian-Romanian cooperation



Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met during the margins of the NATO Summit in Wales with Defence Minister of Romania Mircea Dusa. During the conversation, it has been stated that the relations between the two countries are traditionally good and that the present cooperation is an example of developing friendly relations in the region.

During the meeting, Minister Gasic thanked Romania for the support in the EU integration process and the help during the floods. As stated, this has once again confirmed the work of the two countries on creating a better environment for securing prosperity and development.

Gasic and Dusa also analyzed the results achieved within the field of defence. Along with cooperation in the domain of joint exercises and training, transportation and transport and exchanging practices from reforms of the defence system, they particularly pointed out the results in the field of the military air force.

- We wish to exchange practices of the Romanian soldiers who have fought in the EU Battlegroups, and those related to representing the defence system in other structures functioning within the Common Security and Defence Policy – Bratislav Gasic said.

The two ministers concluded that holding high-level meetings is important because they define strategic guidelines of future cooperation in the field of defence. Bratislav Gasic invited his Romanian colleague to an official visit to Serbia in the next period.
