Minister Gasic visited construction sites at the Municipality of Majdanpek
Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic visited today members of the Armed Forces of Serbia deployed in flood relief in Kazanska Reka village, in Municipality of Majdanpek.Members of the Third Army Brigade are reconstructing the road and bringing the river back to the river bed with three engineering machines and two motorized tipping vehicles.
Talking with citizens of the nearby villages, Minister Gasic said that, starting today, the Armed Forces are actively repairing three kilometers of the road that had been demolished during the floods, upon the request of the Temporary Majdanpek Municipality Agency from month and a half ago.
- I expect that in the next 20 days the situation in the village will be stabilized, the citizens will get a new streamline, and that we will help them reestablish normal living conditions. There are children in the village that couldn’t start their school year on September 1, which is unfortunate. We were active in Krupanj, Bajina Basta, Obrenovac, and across Serbia, so we were not able to send our engineering units to this village sooner – Minister of Defence stated, adding that the Armed Forces will continue helping when they receive the corresponding demand by the local self-governments and that they are always at Serbian citizens’ disposal.In the next few days, more members of our military and engineering machines will be deployed, and soon, works will also begin in surrounding villages afflicted by the floods, near HPP “Djerdap “ – Rusna Glava, Topolnica and Kopana Glavica.
