"Stanislav Binicki" Ensemble and Manjifiko in Koper

The Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binicki” and Slovenian author Robert Pesut – Manjifiko with his band continue their successful cooperation with the last night’s concert in Koper and tonight’s in Maribor.

After touring Slovenian cities in December and May, last night, at Titov Trg in Koper, in their recognizable manner, performing Manjifiko’s compositions and popular numbers from “Montevideo”, they wowed over 2,000 auditors at the nearly filled central plateau of this Slovenian city.

The long lasting applause that followed “Binicki” coming to the stage, as a unique sign of welcome, brought joy to our musicians that accompanied the Slovenian author and arranger with inspiration during performances of well-known compositions “here I go, I think”, “Zum Zum Kolo”, “Samo Malo”, “Pukni Zoro”, and others.

The evening's musical event was announced in the afternoon, when, after a 10-hour travel to the north of Adriatic, the Ensemble was warmly welcomed, and Pesut’s friendly hug with old friends hinted that they yearned for a good concert, which they ultimately played to the pleased audience.

After the end of the concert, and several encores, the host didn’t hide his joy because the cooperation with the Serbian military orchestra is “so fruitful and long-lasting”.

- I have to admit that this has overcome my expectations from the beginning of our cooperation, and the positive reaction of the audience is the biggest incentive for us to continue with this – Robert Pesut pointed out, announcing upcoming concerts in Italy and Serbia that come with great expectations.

Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence Colonel Petar Boskovic was very pleased with the reception of the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binicki” by the Slovenian audience.

- The applause from 2,000 people is what matters to us the most. It confirms the success of our mission to spread culture and a positive image of the Armed Forces of Serbia. I am particularly glad that the Slovenian audience knows we are marking the centenary of the Great War and reacts exceptionally positively to the compositions related to that period of our history – Colonel Boskovic said, expressing his hope that the cooperation with the renowned Slovenian author will be continued with concerts across the region.
