Day of the Riverine Flotilla
With ceremonial alignment at the “Aleksandar Beric” barracks in Novi Sad, presenting awards and acknowledgements to the most deserving and with a defile of units, members of the Riverine Flotilla celebrated August 6 – the Day of the Riverine Units and the Day of the Riverine Flotilla.

Addressing the attendants, Riverine Flotilla Commander Colonel Andrija Andric said that the unit continues the tradition of successful work, pointing out the tactical exercise with live fire “The Blue Response”, and engagement in protecting and rescuing citizens and flood relief.Best collectives and individuals were pronounced, for the most noted results achieved in the past year.
The title of the best ship was awarded to the station for demagnetization of ships “Sabac”, which is also the command ship from the Group of Multipurpose Ships of the First Riverine Squad.
The best crew is the four-member crew of the amphibian transporter from the First Pontoon Battalion from Sabac. The prestigious epithet of an exemplary officer was deservingly awarded to Second Lieutenant Srdjan Milojevic, Platoon Commander in the Pontoon Squad of the Second Pontoon Battalion. Exemplary noncommissioned officer of the Riverine Flotilla is Sergeant First Class Aleksandar Mitic, the first noncommissioned officer at the Group of Multipurpose Ships of the First Riverine Squad.
The celebration of the holiday of the riverine units and the Riverine Flotilla at the “Aleksandar Beric” barracks was attended by Brigadier General Zarko Lazarevic, Chief of Staff of the Army Command, and representatives of the local self-government. The ceremony ended with a defile of units of the Riverine Flotilla.
