SAF delegation finishes its visit to the Russian Federation
Army Commander Lieutenant General Aleksandar Zivkovic met today with Russian Army Commander Oleg Salyukov.Generals Zivkovic and Salyukov talked about the organization of the Russian Army, performing joint exercises in Serbia and Russia, and about possibilities for further education of members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the educational centers of the Russian Army.
Earlier today, the two generals laid wreaths by the Eternal Flame at Poklonnaya Gora, after which General Zivkovic visited the Military Academy of the Russian Armed Forces, where he was informed on levels of education at that institution, and possibilities for cooperation.
Today, the delegation of our country finishes its visit to the Russian Federation, during which General Zivkovic had bilateral meetings with Colonel General Oleg Salyukov, Russian Army Commander, Colonel General Vladimir Anatolyevich Shamanov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne Troops, Lieutenant General Yury Stavitsky, Head of the Engineering Troops of the Russian Armed Forces and Major General Andrei Sychevoi, Commander of the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle 'Tamanskaya' Division.
Bilateral meetings of General Zivkovic in Russia
Army Commander Lieutenant General Aleksandar Zivkovic, currently visiting the Russian federation, met yesterday with Lieutenant General Yury Stavitsky, Head of the Engineering Troops of the Russian Armed Forces.
Generals Zivkovic and Stavitsky talked about possibilities for improving cooperation. Stressing that Russia has capacities for training of engineering units, General Stavitsky invited Serbian soldiers to the competition of pontoon units: “Open Water”, which will be held next year in Russia.
Yesterday, General Zivkovic also visited the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle 'Tamanskaya' Division, the host of the “Tank Biathlon 2014”, where he spoke with that unit’s Commander Major General Andrei Sychevoi. The two generals discussed possibilities for executing joint training and exercises, with special emphasis on training for combat in the urban environment.
