Concert held on the occasion of the Day of the Second Brigade
On the occasion of the Day of the 2nd Army Brigade – July 12, the Art Ensemble “Stanislav Binicki” of the Ministry of Defence held a concert at the Army House in Kraljevo.Led by conductor Pavle Medakovic, the Ensemble performed traditional military marches, music dedicated to marking the centenary of the First World War, classical numbers and evergreen hits.
The repertoire included compositions “Mars kralja Aleksandra”, “Kraljevo kolo”, “Tamo daleko”, Bojarka-Carevac”, “Tobdzijsko kolo”, “Serbian Waltz”, “Vostani Serbie”, and many other numbers, including the combination of several hits by the renowned group ABBA. During the second part of the evening, members of the Ensemble were joined by solo performers and singers from Kraljevo who performed authentic traditional Serbian songs.
The concert was attended by Second Army Brigade Commander General Marinko Pavlovic with members of the Collegium, representatives of religious communities, commanders of the Division Battalion of the Second Army Brigade and many citizens of Kraljevo.The Day of the Second Brigade is marked in a memory of the day when, in 1805, Karadjordje and rebels won the victory over Turks in freeing Kraljevo as we know it today.
