Minister of Defence dicussing military cooperation with the Ambassador of Tunisia

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met with the Tunisia Ambassador Majid Hamlaoui.

Gasic and Hamlaoui agreed that cooperation in the field of defence has so far been achieved through military and economic form of cooperation. Defence Minister pointed out that the stable political relations between Serbia and Tunisia represent a great foundation for development and advancement of all forms of cooperation in the field of defence.

Aside from realistic possibilities for further expansion of military-economic cooperation, there are conditions for education and professional advancement of Tunisian staff in military-educational institutions of the Ministry of Defence.

Moreover, another potential field for development of relations between the two countries lies within the field of healthcare protection, medical care and treatment of members of the Ministry of Defence and Tunisian Military at the Military Medical Academy.

With the goal of advancement of cooperation in the field of defence, Gasic invited the Delegation of experts of the Ministry of Defence of Tunisia to visit Serbia by the end of the year. As Minister of Defence pointed out, this would create conditions for adjustment of the Cooperation Agreement in the field of defence and learning about the production program of the defence industry and capacities of military-educational and military-medical institutions in Serbia.
