Action for helping colleagues affected by the floods

Поплаве Србија 2014.A humanitarian action has been initiated at the Defence Ministry, in order to collect financial means for helping members of the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces of Serbia whose assets have been damaged in the floods that have recently hit our country.

According to recent collected data on the number of persons whose property has been damaged due to the natural disaster, it has been stated that, in the Ministry of Defence, there are 88 endangered families with 234 members, while in the Armed Forces of Serbia there are 199 families with 629 who lived in the flooded areas. Those are not precise data, considering that the state commissions for damage evaluations have not finished their work yet. One of the reasons why the scope of the damage cannot be precisely estimated yet is that many members of the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces were not the owners of the facilities they lived in.

Participating in this humanitarian action, which will last until July 11 in all organizational units, members of the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces of Serbia have the opportunity to help their colleagues. Money thus acquired will reach those who need it faster and more efficiently, in order to remove the most urgent problems that have troubled them in days after the floods.
