Minister visits "Prvi Partizan"
Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic wisited today the special-purpose plant “Prvi Partizan” in Uzice, where he was briefed on work and results of the plant in the previous period. Director Dobrosav Andric showed Minister Gasic through the manufacturing machinery of “Prvi Partizan”, after which Minister used the opportunity to talk to the workers as well.After the tour of the manufacturing halls, Gasic stated that his visit to “Prvi Partizan” had been planned since the beginning of his mandate, as a part of the tour of all six special-purpose plants.
- “Prvi Partizan” is one of the carriers of special-purpose industry at this moment. The € 30 million investment scheduled to be realized in the next few years is of crucial importance for both “Prvi Partizan” and the city of Uzice. In the next period, we expect for 100 new workers to be employed here, followed by another 100, as this part of the investment comes to a close – Defence Minister said, adding that consideration has been given to what should be done in the next period in order for the special-purpose industry to function even better.
Defence Minister, while answering the question about the upcoming elections for the director of “Prvi Partizan”, said that this decision is not up to the Ministry, but to the legal regulations for this area. Anyone who can guarantee achievement of the results of the plant that the state expects and regular payments to the workers can, according to Gasic, run for director, and the supervising board will make the decision accordingly.Gasic said that he was pleased with the organization of the company and certain financial results in the past period, which was not to say that they couldn’t be better. According to him, special-purpose industry was neglected in the period 2000-2012, and there is the intention to improve the situation step by step in the next year, or two.
