Arms Control in the Republic of Serbia



Контрола наоружања у Републици СрбијиThe Inspection Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted an inspection of arms control in the Republic of Serbia in concordance with Section 4 of the Annex to the 1B Dayton Agreement. The inspection was conducted at the Backa Barracks in Backa Topola, and the object of the inspection was the self-propelled howitzer artillery battalion.

In order to gain first-hand insight into the process of implementation of the Agreement, Major General Torres, the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman for the Section 4 of the Annex to the 1B Dayton Agreement and his associates also participated in the arms control inspection.

During the final meeting, General Torres expressed his joy for the high level of organization and functioning of the monitoring team of the Republic of Serbia and of the inspected unit of the Armed Forces of Serbia. He also stressed the professionalism of the members of the Verification Center of the Department for the International Military Cooperation which completely ensures that obligations of the Republic of Serbia are performed according to the international agreements in the field of arms control.
