Meeting of the presidents of Serbia and Belarus



President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic met today, at the Palace of Serbia, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in an official visit to our country since yesterday. The two presidents talked about different aspects of cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the field of Economics. Among others, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic also participated in the talks.

In presence of the leaders, many agreements between the two countries, local self-governments and Serbian and Belarus companies have been signed.

President Nikolic said that Serbia has a goal of becoming a member of the European Union, and that, since Belarus is a member of the Eurasian Union, a connection between the two countries could be the bridge for cooperation between the two organizations.

President Lukashenko said, among other things, that Belarus supports Serbia’s territorial integrity and that there are no domains in which the two countries could not cooperate.
