Signing of Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan with the Republic of Turkey
Within the regular activities, a meeting was held today with the goal to analyze cooperation in the field of defence between the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia in the previous period, and to reach final adjustments and signing of the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan.
Both ends assessed that the bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and Turkey has developed successfully, with the willingness to improve it further.
The dominant fields of cooperation are training and participation in joint exercises of the Special Forces, cooperation in the scope of regional security integrations and initiatives, education, training and military economic cooperation.
It was stated that there is potential for improvement of cooperation in the domain of military medicine through exchanging and continued training of physicians and military medical experts of various profiles.
Colonel Milan Konjikovac, Acting Head of the Department for International Cooperation, thanked the Turkish representatives for the help provided to the citizens of the Republic of Serbia affected by the disastrous floods. Planned meetings of High Officials during 2014 will contribute to concretizing the present and discovering new fields of cooperation in the domain of defence.
Colonel Gundogdu, Defence Representative of the Republic of Turkey in Belgrade, pointed out the solidarity of the Turkish people with the Serbian people, and repeated the commitment of the Republic of Turkey to continue providing help in flood relief in the next period as well.
At the end of the meeting, the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2014 has been signed between the two ministries.
