Signing of the agreements between the University of Defence in Belgrade and the University of Rijeka



In the Rector's Office of the University of Defence, a cooperation agreement between that higher education institution and the University of Rijeka has been signed today. With this agreement, Lieutenant General Miodrag Jevtic, Rector of the University of Defence, and Pero Lucin, PhD, Rector of the University of Rijeka have opened doors for future cooperation between the two Universities, primarily in the field of education and scientific research.

- We know what we want, we have good resources, we are working on training younger generation of staff that will succeed us one day, we wish to cooperate and to find a mutual goal in that respect with you.

- This agreement enables us to take concrete action in the next period which would be of mutual interest – General Jevtic said, expressing his conviction that today’s agreement will strengthen the regional academic cooperation between the two Universities.

- There are many fields we can cooperate in, and this agreement shouldn’t remain a mere fiction, but should become an obligation for us to work actively on cooperation between the Universities – Lucin, PhD, said, stressing that the Military Academy has great infrastructural capacities, which makes it a genuine university campus.

Head of the Military Academy Major General Mladen Vuruna and Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka Prof. Serdjo Kos, PhD signed the cooperation agreement.

Guests from Croatia were briefed on educational capacities and potentials of the University of Defence, and, during the tour of the Military Academy, they were reported about a part of the resources this higher education institution disposes of.
