A three-day Workshop on the integrity in deploying outsourcing and the public-private partnership, organized by the Material Resources Sector in cooperation with the Sector for Political Issues and Security Policy of NATO and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces, has started today in the Central Military Club in Topcider.

The professional meeting was opened by the Assistant Minister for Material Resources Jasminka Todorov, Sarah Stoker from the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces and Benedict Borrell from the Sector for Political Issues and Security Policy of NATO.

- The subject of the workshop we are opening today is focused on evaluating risks of corruption when the Defence Ministry uses outsourcing or is engaged in establishing a private-public partnership. The goal is for the professionals and experts who mostly come from countries practically dealing with problems of similar nature to analyze the current issues together, identify key challenges which our defence systems are facing and suggest practical measures that can lead us towards upgrading transparency, responsibility and integrity in defence and security sector – Jasminka Todorov pointed out.

Beside the representatives of our country, other participants in the gathering are representatives of Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Norway.
