Advancement in the field of managing defence resources
A workshop titled “System engineering, testing and evaluating the weapons and military equipment during the defence procurement process” (System Engineering, Test & Evaluation) has begun today at the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, organized by the Department for Defence Technology. This is a workshop that is being organized as a part of the International Defence Resource Management Program, and the lecturers are coming from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA.While opening the meeting, Major General Bojan Zrnic, Head of the Department for Defence Technology, pointed out the importance of such advancement for the members of the defence system and for the preserved continuity in organization and realization of similar workshops in the field of managing defence resources.
The 5 day workshop, attended by 25 participants from organizational units of the defence system, focuses on components of successful approach to system engineering, which is applied in the test stage and evaluation of weapons and military equipment for military purposes. The goal of the workshop is to represent to the participants the characteristics and limits found in system engineering, in a methodical and an academic way.This is the fourth year of the cooperation with the Civilian Military Relations Centre from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, which is planned and organized annually, as a part of the bilateral military cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and USA.
