Armed Forces continues to support the citizens of Serbia



Serbian Armed Forces members are still with the citizens of Serbia in the flooded areas since the early morning hours.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces are helping in Obrenovac, Bajina Basta, Ub, Koceljeva, Loznica, Lesnica, Ljubovija, Osecina, Sabac, Lajkovac, Lazarevac, Valjevo, Grocka, Preljina, Cacak, Lucani, Požega, Malo Crnice, Kucevo, Smederevska Palanka, Aleksinac, Trnava near Jagodina, Kosjeric, Razanj, Trstenik, Pojate, Djunis, Pozarevac, Kraljevo, Baric ...

Tonight, the members of the Serbian Armed Forces employed amphibious vehicles to evacuate citizens from elementary school "Jefimija" in Rajinovci near Obrenovac. Tonight, the members of the Special Brigade and the Military Police special purpose Battalion "Cobra" have been also engaged in the evacuation of residents of Obrenovac.

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic headed to Sabac, and the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic to Obrenovac.

About 1,300 members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged today in the flooded areas. They employed aircraft, helicopters, amphibious vehicles, boats, motor vehicles, wheeled water tanks with water for drinking, water pumps, mobile kitchens for preparing food ...

The citizens received 88 tons of food.

About 600 soldiers and officers were sent to Sabac to assist in the defence of the city against floods.

Helicopters of the Serbian Armed Forces have evacuated today more than 200 persons. At the Batajnica airport 39 of them were taken care of.

From the Jefimija school, 30 people were evacuated, including 13 children and a four-month baby.

SAF helicopters evacuated 75 more persons from Veliko Polje.

SAF helicopter transported nine patients from Ljubovija to haemodialysis in the medical centre in Loznica .

Members of the 204th Aviation Brigade, along with a team of the Special Brigade and the medical team, evacuated from the village of Veliko Polje near Obrenovca an eight-member family, including a one-year-old baby and a 79-year-old granny. The family is housed in the infirmary at the Batajnica military airport, and the Serbian Armed Forces rescuers continue to evacuate the population.

During the day, the Serbian Armed Forces helicopters saved over 130 persons from Obrenovac and the vicinity. Evacuation by air continues.

AN-26 plane from the composition of the 204th Aviation Brigade was engaged in transporting the Russian rescuers from Nis to Surcin.

Three transport helicopters from the 204th Aviation Brigade were engaged in the Obrenovac region for delivering the aid and evacuation of the population.

In the village of Trnava near Jagodina there are more than 70 members of the Serbian Armed Forces of the Special Brigade and the 246th CBRN Battalion engaged in providing assistance and evacuation of the population.

Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic, Commander of the Second Army Brigade, whose soldiers are engaged in the evacuation of residents of Grdica near Kraljevo, has appealed to all citizens to obey the advice of the competent authorities who are trying to help them during the rescue operation.

- I ask them not to risk their lives and to accept the evacuation, Pavlovic said, adding that members of this brigade are engaged in rescue from Bajina Basta, through Pozega, Cacak, Ub and Kosjeric to Kraljevo.

- Since the last night in Kraljevo, mainly in Grdica, about 350 residents of this suburb settlement have been evacuated, Pavlovic said.

Soldiers of the Second brigade are still using boats to pull out hundreds of residents of Grdica, who were in their homes when sudden flash floods occurred early this morning.

During the night, members of the Serbian Armed Forces in Valjevo and Ub were visited by Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and Serbian CHOD General Ljubisa Dikovic. They offered assistance in the form of engaging the military police to secure the Juvenile Penal-Correctional Facility in Valjevo.

In the municipality of Ub, where the situation is critical, the members of the Second Army Brigade and the Second Training Centre were sent with 200 blankets and 4 motor vehicles.
