Lecture by Governor Tabakovic to participants of General Staff Advanced Education and Command Staff Advanced Education



Ms Jorgovanka Tabakovic, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, has delivered today a lecture on the impact of international financial institutions on the conduct of monetary policy at the Military Academy.

During the two-hour lecture intended for the participants in the 57th class of General Staff Advanced Education and 60th class of Command and Staff Advanced Education, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor spoke about the importance of the presence of the International Monetary Fund and other international financial institutions confirming to investors that some market is safe for their investments, but also about independence in management of local finances.

In addition to the officers who are currently participants in the advanced education, the lecture by the Governor was attended by Major General Mladen Vuruna, Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Mile Jelic, Chief of the National Defence School and many lecturers of the National Defence School and the Military Academy.

- The success of the National Bank of Serbia in accomplishing its main goals, achieving the price stability and financial stability, depends on all parts of the domestic macroeconomic environment, Tabakovic said and in that sense she particularly emphasized the importance of raising the level of education and qualification of the local population.

Governor Tabakovic wished the officers participating in the advanced education to focus their careers towards making Serbia a safer and better place, which is only possible if they properly understand their role in the system.

Officers participating in the advanced education and their teachers had the opportunity to ask Governor of the National Bank of Serbia questions, and Colonel Jelic thanked her for the today's lecture on behalf of all those present.
