General Dikovic meets Participants in Advanced Security and Defence Studies



General Ljubisa Dikovic, Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, talked with participants in the 3rd Class of Advanced Security and Defence Studies.

The meeting was attended by Major General Mladen Vuruna, Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Mile Jelic, Head of the National Defence School, and Colonel Slobodan Joksimovic, Head of Advanced Security and Defence Studies, to whom General Dikovic on this occasion presented a plaque for his efforts in establishing and improving work of Advanced Security and Defence Studies.

Chief of General Staff expressed his pleasure at being able to talk to the participants in the highest level of advanced education for officers, and he was particularly interested in the impressions of the representatives of foreign armed forces and other institutions in the system of national defence.

General Dikovic said that, apart from the knowledge acquired, the greatest value of this education is sharing of views and experiences on the most important issues in the field of national defence. He pointed out that this level of advanced education is attended also by senior officials who are in a position to make important decisions, and the knowledge and information obtained here will help them to make timely decisions in the best interest of the citizens of Serbia.

Advanced Security and Defence Studies represent an organizational unit in the School of National Defence, where once a year, for 21 weeks, the highest level of advanced education for officers and civil servants of the Ministry of Defence is realised. Participants in Advanced Security and Defence Studies are also senior officials from other ministries and agencies of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and other countries in the region.
