Visit of Swiss delegation and representatives of NATO Support Agency



A six-member delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Swiss Confederation and a representative of the NATO Support Agency (NSPA), were in a four-day expert visit to the Ministry of Defence and TRZ Kragujevac. The aim of the visit was to determine the possibility of equipping the laboratory for testing chemical stability of gunpowder and propellants in the TRZ Kragujevac.

During the visit to TRZ Kragujevac, the delegation visited the facilities for testing the chemical stability of gunpowder and propellants, collection of gunpowder and capacity of the Institute for demilitarization, and expressed their satisfaction with the level of laboratory equipment, skilled and professional staff.

The final analysis was carried out today at the meeting in the Department for Defence Technology, chaired by its Head, Major General Bojan Zrnic. The meeting also identified forms of future cooperation between the ministries of defence of Serbia and Switzerland, which would be reflected in the areas of optimization of laboratory for testing chemical stability of gunpowder and propellants and testing procedures, monitoring of the environmental protection during the demilitarization process, improving physical security of TRZ Kragujevac and improvement of the technological procedures for demilitarization.

Representatives of the Swiss delegation expressed their gratitude to the Serbian Ministry of Defence for organizing the visit and invited their representatives for the return expert visit to capacities in Switzerland.
