Expert talks in the field of Defence Institution Building
At the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, expert talks were conducted between the representatives of the US Department of Defense and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces.The purpose of the expert talks was to analyze the achievements of bilateral military cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America in the field of defence institution building.
The talks included the analysis of the activities realised in the period 2011-2014, in the following fields: plans, policy and budget, doctrine, host nation support to the multinational forces, professional military development and training, validation, multinational operations and capability based planning.
According to the plan for the realisation of activities, expert talks were conducted in four thematic groups: strategy and defence policy, defence resource management, human resource management and logistics.
In the previous period, the following activities in the field of defence institution building, which were realised in cooperation with the US Department of Defense, can be distinguished as the most important: Domestic Support Estimate Completed; Scenario development & Interpreting policy guidance; Strategic Doctrine Development Policy Reviewed; Principles of Defense Contracting and Negotiating; Cost Models and Cost Factors; National Defense Planning: Process Review and Synchronization; Expeditionary Support Estimate Completed; From National Defense planning to effective multi-year budgeting; KARANA STAFEX: Activation; Threat Assessment; Designing Scenarios for national-level capability-based planning / Aligning defense planning nomenclature and documents; KARANA STAFEX: Deployment; STAFEX KARANA III - Redeployment; Capability-based planning: Capability Profiles and CBP: Developing capability profiles.
