Roundtable on project management of state bodies

Mr Zoran Djordjevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, opened the round table "Capacities of project management units of state bodies ", focused on synchronization of all ministries in the preparation and implementation of projects.

At today's meeting in Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, where the Ministry of Defence was one of the initiators, one of the speakers was Proda Secerov, PhD, Director of Project Management Directorate of the Ministry of Defence.

State Secretary Djordjevic recalled that the Project Management Directorate is on the right track to become an example of good practice in ministries and how it can be reflected also on the state, because it is the fact, as he pointed out, that the state brought to the purpose only a third of the projects that were available to it.

- We are trying to make all the projects that are in the Ministry of Defence pass through the Project Management Directorate and that it monitors it in a certain way, and finally report to the minister when the project is completed – State Secretary Djordjevic pointed out.

According to him, the task of today's meeting is to make a plan on how to improve training in order to increase the expertise, each in its domain and realm, and how to raise the level of operational functionality and organization, and in particular to strengthen the inter-departmental cooperation .

In the continuation of the meeting, Dr. Secerov presented the purpose and tasks of the Project Management Directorate, sending a message that the recognition and support of the top management in the system are the best way for project units to accomplish their tasks.

At the roundtable, speakers were Professor Tanja Miscevic, Serbia's chief negotiator with the EU, Milena Radomirovic from the European Integration Office, Dusan Stojanovic, Director of the Directorate for Digital Agenda, Professor Petar Jovanovic, YUPMA & PM College, Dragana Ilijasevic, President at PMI Serbia Chapter, Milan Smigic, Center for Project Management CPM and Dragisa Kacavenda from Asseco SEE.
