Welcoming the guests and participants of the seminar, Brigadier General Dragosav Lackovic, Head of Personnel Department, emphasized that the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, as part of the defence reform and professionalization of the Serbian Armed Forces, which started in 2006 by developing the Professionalization Project, attaches enormous importance also to the reform of human resources management.

- The Serbian Armed Forces has a well-organised and stable system of human resources, whose operation is based on the Constitution, the Law on the Armed Forces, the Law on Defence, the Human Resources Doctrine, Training Doctrine and a series of other by-laws, General Lackovic underlined.

According to him, interest in human resources management of the U.S. Armed Forces is motivated by the desire to gain knowledge on the methods and mechanisms of functioning of a developed and complex system, with the aim of critical observation of conditions and specificities, as well as evaluating the applicability of such practices and some normative solutions to improve our human resource management system and make certain parallels in areas where this is possible.
