Awards and acknowledgments for the MMA jubilee

Ceremony in the Military Medical Academy, where awards and acknowledgements were presented to the employees at that institution and the associates, marked the Day and 170 years of MMA.

The audience was addressed by the Head of the Military Medical Academy, Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Marijan Novakovic who said on that occasion the following:

- Medicine is a human science and there is no such technology that can replace the human factor; because great men have marked the Military Medical Academy. Without them, the MMA would be just another hospital. That is why we will continue to invest in education and professional development.

At the ceremony, the names of new PhDs, who defended their doctoral thesis in the last year were read out. These are: Colonel Vlado Cvijanovic, Assistant MD, lieutenant colonels and assistants Milorad Milivojevic MD and Mirko Resan MD, and assistants Aleksandra Vukomanovic, MD and Ljubisa Ristic, MD.

This year, Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care was declared the best organizational MMA unit.

Winners of this year's "Dr. Vladan Djordjevic" medals, which are awarded to the best military and civilian surgeons for the sixth time in a row, were Major General Retired Academician Prof. Dr. Antonije Skokljev and Prof. Miroslav Milicevic.

The author and the reviewer of the "Military Medical Review" of the year were declared. The author of the year is Prof. Dr. Zoran Slavkovic, Head of the MMA Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, and the reviewer of the year is Prof. Dr. Branko Nikolic, Head of the Conservative Gynaecology Department of the "Narodni front" Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic in Belgrade.

The acknowledgments were awarded to journalists Ana Stamenkovic from the Serbian Broadcasting Agency, Ivana Vucicevic from Studio B, Daniela Davidov-Kesar from the "Politika" daily and Marijana Vasiljevic from "Vecernje Novosti". Companies "Gosper", "Adoc", "Farmalogist", "Pharmaswiss", "Phoenix Pharma" and "Aptus" were awarded the acknowledgements for the successful business cooperation.

The central celebration of the anniversary will be organized tonight by a ceremony held in the House of Guard in Topcider.
