Minister of Defence talks with the Slovenian CHOD



Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic government held talks with the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Army Major General Dobran Bozic.

It was noted that the long-standing successful cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia serves as a good example of the development of friendly relations in the region , aimed at creating a favorable environment for the overall development and prosperity . A commitment to regional cooperation between the two countries certainly testifies to the continuity of high-level meetings whereupon both sides expressed appreciation for the support in the process of European integration and professional relationship of more than 300 members of the Slovenian Armed Forces in KFOR .

When it comes to military cooperation the previous year was marked by a number of joint activities. The cooperation of military educational institutions and military archives , as well as in the area of budget and finance is particularly pronounced. Slovenian Chief of Staff presented the characteristics and facilities of the Centre NBC , Base Jug , Military Medical Academy , the Military Hospital in Nis , Centre for Peacekeeping Operations and the Center for the destruction of ammunition and weapons - TRZ Kragujevac .

Minister Rodic conveyed the Serbian side’s interest in Slovenian experience when it comes to participation in battle groups and projects of the European Defence Agency The following were proposed as future areas of cooperation-training , preparation and possible joint participation in multinational operations and regional military exercises . Furthermore, willingness to intensify military economic cooperation with the Republic of Slovenia was also expressed.
