Marking the day of the Nis military hospital

The ceremony in the Army in Nis, Serbia today marked the Day of the Military Hospital in Nis - Jan. 22 , and 136 years since the founding of the Great military hospital for thousands of sick and wounded .

- Members of the Nis military hospital have for decades and centuries built the reputation of the medical institution , while bestowing on the new generations a covenant that they should upgrade , improve and surpass ancestors in preserving and improving the health of soldiers and citizens from southern Serbia , said at the ceremony director of the Military Hospital Niš Colonel Radiša Vitas .

During his speech he highlighted the participation continuity in peacekeeping operations since 1973, and the involvement of the UN mission in the Sinai and in Angola , until today when the hospital’s doctors and nurses involved in missions in Congo, Chad, Uganda and Somalia. In the last decade , according to him, 115 members of the Military Hospital in Nis tok part in 23 multinational operations .

The Chief of the Military Health Care Department MO Brigadier General Zoran Popović, congratulating the holiday members of the institution , said that even in these difficult times we must go forward , especially in the field of new methods and technologies , so as to educate people and teamwork .

The celebration was attended by the Chief of the Military Medical Academy , Brigadier General Marjan Novakovic , Deputy Army Commander Major General Milosav Simovic, commander of the Third Army Brigade , Brigadier General Želimir Glišović , local officials, and military ambulances and civilian medical institutions .

At the ceremony acknowledgments by Minister of Defence and Chief of the SAF as well as stimulation measures were presented.. Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic awarded military commemorative medals while Colonel Slobodan Ciric and military employees Biljana Jovovich and Snow Petkovic , while money was awarded Lt. Col. Milos Kostov. Director of the Military Hospital in Nis for successful cooperation in the past presented plaques to representatives of the Third Army Brigade and RFZO the Nis District .
