Gen Dikovic pays tribute to Serbian military leaders

By laying of a wreath today at the New Cemetery in Belgrade , the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces , headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army , General Ljubisa Diković , paid tribute to the famous Serb military leader Dukes Zivojin Misic , Peter Bojovic and Army General Pavle Jurisic Sturm on the anniversary of their deaths.

Wreaths were laid by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia , City of Belgrade , civic associations and descendants of Serbian liberation wars .

General Diković on this occasion said that the famous military leaders deserve to have their names pronounced with dignity and to admire their work .

A series of events in the country and the world this year marks one hundred years since the outbreak of the First World War , a special contribution to the Jubilee in the country will be organized by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces . On the eve of the big anniversary , the Media Center "Odbrana" has together with RTS and Historical Archive of Serbia , organized a multimedia exhibition of medals , photographs and documents entitled " Milunka Savic - Heroine of the Great War ," held in October and the documentary film " Milunka Savic - Heroine of the Great War " produced by was produced by Radio television of Serbia , its filming being supported by the Ministry of Defence. Furthermore the calendar issued by the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia in 2014 is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great War .

On the occasion of the Jubilee of the Great War , Military Museum is preparing this year the exhibition " War flags of WWI " , organized by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Culture and Information the opening of a Ship Museum for the Beginning of World War I " Bodrog ." The idea is for " Bodrog " to be part of the activities marking the anniversary of the Great War over the next four years , or up to 11 November. In a few selected locations in Belgrade , including the Military Museum and the Historical Museum of Serbia , in the second half of the year the exhibition " Serbia 1914" will be held.

Military Film Center " Zastava film ," in co-production by Radio Television of Serbia , is making a documentary film " Serbia in the Great War " , and the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense , " Stanislav Binički " will mark the anniversary of the Great War by a series of concerts in the country.

The publishing of the Media Center " Odbrana " for 2014 will also mark the anniversary the Research Institute of the Ministry of Defence in cooperation with the Institute of History in Belgrade will be organizing an international scientific conference .

Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will support all other activities that will commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War be organized at the state level.
